Smashing PumpkinsSmashing Pumpkins get frustrated when fans just want to hear their old songs.

Frontman Billy Corgan says despite all the work he puts into writing new material, fans often just want them to play the classics:

"We met this wall resistance like, 'It's nice you guys want to move forward, but can't you just play the old songs?' I've had five years of 'Can't you just play the old songs?' The whole time, all I've done is put my head down and try to make new music. You reach a point of literal frustration where you start going, 'Maybe this is never going to move forward? Maybe the vague 'they' out there will never accept The Smashing Pumpkins of this time?'"

However, concertgoers could be disappointed next time they're at a show because Billy says they plan to play their latest offering Oceania in its entirety with only few fan favorites thrown in:

Green DayGreen Day have a dance music track on their new trilogy.

The American Idiot band are releasing three albums, titled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tre! and on one track, "Kill the DJ," attempted to emulate electronic music.

"Mike [Dirt, bassist] asked me to write a song with a four-on-the-floor rhythm. I'd never done it before. It's kind of like [The Clash's] 'Sandinista!,' Ian Dury's 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll' and the Tom Tom Club song, 'Genius of Love.' We were trying to figure out how to make dance music without turning into a dance band," said singer Billie Joe Armstrong.

Billie also explained the reason the band are releasing three albums is because they wanted to do something "dangerous," but even though there are three separate discs, it still counts as one album under their record contract:

Lil WayneLil Wayne's I am Not a Human Being II "isn't rushed."

The "Drop the World" rapper recently completed the second in his series, and admits its predecessor - released in 2010 - was rushed as he was jailed for possession of a weapon.

"I Am Not A Human Being II, that's what I'm workin' on right now, actually I'm finished. The difference between this album and the last I Am Not a Human Being would be the music wasn't rushed. Last time the music was rushed because I had to take that eight-month vacation on that island so we had rushed the music, but this time we didn't rush the music."

Wayne spent eighth months in Rikers Island prison in New York over the weapons charge, during which time I am Not a Human Being was released. Wayne has previously said he wrote an album of love songs during his time inside, although he warned, "It's my version of love songs. And what I mean by 'my version of love songs' is that they're not saying, 'I love you.' They're saying...you know."

I am Not a Human Being II will be preceded by a single, "My Homies Still," but has no set release date at present.

Taylor Swift and Carrie UnderwoodCarrie Underwood hates being compared to Taylor Swift.

The "Good Girl" singer thinks comparisons with fellow American country star Taylor, 22, are unfounded and claims their music and styles are "completely different."

"I feel like we're definitely completely different artists; that is something that's so cool about country music because everyone has their own thing. I'm a little bit older than she is and I feel like our music's completely different and if anyone tries to make any comparisons they really haven't listened to either one of us."

The American Idol winner added that "Love Story" hitmaker Taylor has a different approach to her records: "Our songs are definitely different. She sings a little bit lighter sometimes and it's just a difference in our brand of country."

Deadmau5Deadmau5 has blasted Madonna, David Guetta and Skrillex.

The "I Remember" dance musician famously criticized Madonna after she appeared to ask fans who was taking drugs at one of her concerts, and has now said she should stay away from dance music: "You want to be 'hip' and 'cool' and 'funky grandma'? Fine. It's not my place to say you're irrelevant. If you're gonna come into my world, at least do it with a little more dignity. I understand she has millions more fans, and is way more successful than I'll ever be. But it's like talking about slavery at a f***ing blues concert. It's inappropriate."

Deadmau5 - real name Joel Zimmerman - also criticized two of the biggest DJs in the world, claiming there is very little skill in the way they perform.

"David Guetta has two iPods and a mixer and he just plays tracks - like, 'Here's one with Akon, check it out!' Even Skrillex isn't doing anything too technical. He has a laptop and a MIDI recorder, and he's just playing his s**t. People are, thank God, smartening up about who does what - but there's still button-pushers getting paid half a million. And not to say I'm not a button-pusher. I'm just pushing a lot more buttons."

Katy PerryKaty Perry is launching her own record label.

The "Part of Me" singer is working on plans to create a company which gives power to the artist rather than label executives.

"I'm preparing for it now. And when this record label does come to fruition, I'm going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I'm thinking, 'How would I want to be treated?'" she told The Hollywood Reporter.

By setting up her own label, Katy - who has been signed to EMI's Capitol Records since 2007 - will follow in the footsteps of Madonna, who started Maverick Records under Warner Music Group in the 1990s; Frank Sinatra, who founded Reprise; and Prince, who created Paisley Park Records in 1985.

Thom Yorke of RadioheadRadiohead have postponed a string of European concerts.

The "Karma Police" hitmakers are delaying seven shows which were due to take place at the end of this month and the beginning of next following the collapse of their stage in Toronto last weekend, which resulted in the death of one crew member and injuries to three others.

"Whilst we all are dealing with the grief and shock ensuing from this terrible accident there are also many practical considerations to deal with & consequently we have to try and reschedule," they said in a statement.

The statement also noted that the tragedy had "destroyed" the group's spectacular light show, so the postponement of the shows will help put the visuals back together: "The collapse also destroyed the light show - this show was unique and will take many weeks to replace. The collapse also caused serious damage to our backline, some elements of which are decades old and therefore hard to replace."

RihannaRihanna is recording new material in London.

The "You Da One" singer has booked studio time with top up-and-coming UK music producers Burns and Nicky Romero ahead of her performance at Radio 1's Hackney Weekend in London on Sunday. "Rihanna is working with Marina and the Diamonds' boyfriend Burns, a Brighton-based producer who is good mates with Calvin Harris. They've booked three days in the studio, which they'll fit around him doing some work with Kelis. Rihanna's also working with Nicky Romero, another DJ and pal of Calvin," a source said.

Rihanna previously worked with Calvin on her track "We Found Love," from last year's Talk That Talk album.

The 24-year-old has high an extremely high work rate, releasing six albums since 2005. However, the Barbados-born star had delayed her studio sessions as she was reluctant to leave her family in New York, as her grandmother is battling cancer in hospital. "I'm in LONDON bitchesssss. I didn't wanna leave NY! I kept missing my flights hehehe (sic)" she wrote on Twitter.

Carrie UnderwoodCarrie Underwood wants to make country music appealing around the world.

The 29-year-old singer - who has sold over 14 million albums since winning American Idol in 2005 - thinks it is sad the genre isn't as popular in other countries as it is in the US.

"It's always fun to expand your resume. Country music isn't too popular outside the US and that's something I'd like to change. It's a shame other people aren't exposed on a daily basis to such a wonderful form of music," she said.

Carrie admits she was told she would find appearing on American Idol difficult because of her country roots, but she always had the backing of then-head judge Simon Cowell and didn't have to change or conform.

"From the beginning I was told, 'It's going to be rough for you, it's a pop TV show.' But everything I did just came out country. And Simon encouraged me to stick at what I do well. My goal is to make country music everyone can get into," she added.
